Within a mile of our home, a troll is coming to life on Bainbridge Island. I’ve been shooting photos each evening as the big troll is assembled. So great!

While on our bike tour recently, we met our friends Gina Gotcha and Lisa Steudel on the shores of Victoria, BC. They were a week into this year’s continuation of their Vancouver Island circumnavigation, which they started a couple years ago. They looked strong and were all smiles on a sunny day.

A day hike into Royal Basin, Olympic National Park /
I do so like to go to places I’ve never visited and Royal Basin fit the bill perfectly. It’s been on my list for years and last weekend Kate and I spent the day following the trail to the high country and back. Giant trees, moss-covered forest, running water, lakes, tarns and high peaks were our companions.
