We recently had a fine trek along the AV1 in the Dolomites. This was my first trip in these mountains and I was struck by the scale of the range and the size of the walls we encountered along the route. I’ve read about the Dolomites for years, talked to friends who have been there and seen photos, but none of that prepared me for the impressive reality! Here are a few photos from the trip.
