Doug was a friend and adventure companion on trips big and small. He was a family man full of positive enthusiasm for life. A stunningly strong skier, he was the reference standard for those who tried to keep up with him. He was a very strong team member on any outing and I very much appreciated his presence on some of my favorite Alaskan adventures - Mount Fairweather in 1990, Mount Sanford in 1991 and Mounts Bona and Bear in 1993.
He is greatly missed.
