She’s a little beyond her first year and doing fine. The wet season is here, but she doesn’t seem to mind; still greeting visitors with open arms.

This week I took advantage of a weather window to escape to the San Juan Islands for a solo paddling trip. I’ve enjoyed this route in the past and in late October there are no other paddlers to compete with for campsites. In fact, I saw only one other kayaker; a day tripper at my put-in on Lopez Island. So I got four days of adventuring in just before the rains arrive. It was calm, not too cold and beautiful.

Hiking in the Lake District, England /
While in the Lake District this summer, we hiked the famous Coledale Horseshoe route, which included topping out on one of the Wainwrights - Grisedale Pike. Fantastic!
